MARY JANE MERTZ, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away September 11, 2023. Mary Jane was born November 9th,1929 in Churubusco, Indiana to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Burns) Maloney. She married Walter Daniel Mertz on November 4th, 1952. Mary Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved gardening, flowers, bowling in her younger years and even gave it her best in her 90's. Mary Jane is survived by her children Jacquelyn (Randall) McQueen of Fort Wayne and Kathleen (Gary) Loomis of Hannibal, Missouri and David Mertz. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Preceding Mary Jane in death were her husband of 51 years Walter Daniel Mertz, 5 brothers and 2 sisters, grandsons Ryan McQueen and Drew Mertz. Funeral service is 11a.m. Saturday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, Fort Wayne. Rev. Dr. Randall McQueen officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment immediately following service Saturday in Covington Memorial Gardens. Donations may be given to Mission Hill Baptist Church, Palmyra, Missouri.
