Maxine Blanche Grimm, 94, of Decatur, died on Monday, May 27, 2013. Born April 5, 1919 in Paulding, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Adrien J. and Genevieve (Artz) Girard. She was a 1942 graduate of St. Joseph Hospital of Nursing; she then retired from nursing after 35 years. Her proudest achievement was in establishing the Berne Nursing Home.

She is survived by one son; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great grandson (expected in July); and a host of cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister; and two brothers.

Memorial service with the reciting of the holy rosary is 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Private burial will be planned for a later date. Memorials are to Plymouth Congregational Church and Kibitz.
