MAYON TATE, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. She was a loving wife and mother of six children.  Born on May 3, 1930 in Bono, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Noble and Dollie Henson.  She spent most of her adult as a homemaker and took great pride in raising her children and tending to a beautiful vegetable garden. She worked at Shamban as a machine operator for five years and as a sales person for the Waynedale Bakery.  She excelled at learning new skills. Mayon is survived by six children; Danny, Tony, Connie (Greg) Byrd, Deb (John) Vorndran, Susan, and Sandy, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband Coy, her parents, and her sister, Donna Rambo.  Funeral service is 1:00pm, Friday, June 9, 2023 at Covington Memorial Gardens with visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
