Melissa Janette Coy (Trojan), age 40, of Pierceton, Indiana, ran into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, surrounded by her husband and son and held tightly in the love of Jesus.

Melissa was born in North Webster, Indiana, to Scott and Debby Trojan. She spent her life loving fiercely, laughing loudly, and serving others with unwavering kindness. She was a 17-year team member at Lake City Bank, where she built deep relationships as a Senior Wealth Associate. Her coworkers and clients were more than that—they were friends, and she poured herself into every conversation and every detail with excellence and care.

At home, Melissa's greatest joy was being with her son, Addison (her baby), and cheering him on at his baseball games. Her happiest place was simply being home with her beloved dog, Champ—watching her favorite shows, creating "Meme Monday" posts, or just simply spending time with Derek. She also loved camping with her family and friends, making memories around the fire and under the stars. She was a devoted member of Vineyard Community Church in Syracuse, where her husband, Derek, is a Pastor. Melissa faithfully served in youth ministry for many years, leading and loving teens with patience, humor, and authenticity. She also used her creative gifts on the church's presentations team (she was better than Derek) and wherever help was needed. Whether at church, at work, or out in the world, Melissa radiated the love of Christ and made everyone feel seen, known, and cared for.

To know Melissa was to be blessed by her contagious smile, unmistakable laugh (or as many would call it, her cackle), and a heart that overflowed with compassion. She loved big, gave generously, and embodied the truth of Romans 8:38–39—that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

If you knew her, you knew she was quick to tell you she was either "sick of it" or "I ain't doin' it," but she did everything that truly mattered—with purpose, joy, and the amazing love of Jesus.

She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Derek Coy; her son, Addison Coy; her parents, Debby and Scott Trojan; her siblings Laura Trojan, Lisa Sheeley, Kevin Trojan, Jason Trojan, and Kristen Coy. She was preceded in death by her sister, Stephanie Trojan.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 PM at Vineyard Community Church, 7566 E 1000 N, Syracuse, IN 46567. In lieu of flowers, a beneficiary account has been set up at Lake City Bank to support Derek and Addison in the days ahead.

Melissa's legacy of faith, humor, and selfless love will live on in every life she touched. Until we meet again, we hold tight to the hope of Christ and the promise that nothing—not even death—can separate us from His love. Don't tell me He can't do it!
