Melvin was also a NASCAR fan and kept up with the Rams every Sunday.

Melvin is survived by his son, Jarrod, and his brothers Ronald (Vickie), James (Leslie), and Michael (who Melvin always called 'Moose'). He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marilyn.
