Melvin C. Kuehnert, 94, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Born in Fort Wayne, IN he was a son of the late George and Elma (Klaehn) Kuehnert. Melvin married Dolores Fritz on May 27, 1950 and she preceded him in death on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Melvin was a Dairy Farmer, owning Kuehnert Dairy Farm and a member of Indiana Farm Bureau. He served the community as a mail carrier for a number of years. Surviving are his children, Sharon (John) Engstrom, Stanley (Carol) Kuehnert, Linda (Tony) Eagle, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Kuehnert and Nancy (Pastor David) Koeneman; sister, Eileen (Paul) Domrow; sister-in-law, Helen Kuehnert; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Melvin was also preceded in death by son, Alan Kuehnert; and siblings, Herbert Kuehnert, Mildred Dettmer and Richard Kuehnert. Funeral service, 11:00am, Friday, May 19, 2023 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 7914 W. Cook Road Fort Wayne, IN 46818, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation also from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Thursday, May 18, 2023 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Indiana Dairy Producers Alan Kuehnert's Scholarship Fund. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
