Obituary

Michael L. Mozzone, 74, died on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 9:17 pm at Parkview Regional Medical Center Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana. The son of the late, Frank and Madonna (Robertson) Mozzone. Mike proudly served his country in the Navy on the U.S.S. Truckee AO-147 as a Gunner''s Mate Third Class, during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in the Mediterranean Sea (home port) Naples, Italy. Mike was awarded the National Defense Service Metal. He retired from General Electric Company, the Taylor Street plant, after 34 years of service in the Tool and Die Department. He was a member of the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. He was a longtime volunteer and avid fan for the Bishop Dwenger Sports Programs in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

While attending his brother''s wedding in June 1964, he met the love of his life - Frances (Fran) Tragesser. They were joined in matrimony 3 years later at St. John''s Catholic Church in Tipton, Indiana on June 24, 1967.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Fran; their three children, Jason (Christina) Mozzone of Columbia City, IN, John (Karen) Mozzone, and Jana (Jeff) Rybolt both of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Mariah, Caleb, Justin, Meghan, and Alyssa; one step grandson, Andrew; seven grand dogs, Pepa, Socks, Chewbacca "Chewie", Duchess, Bogey, Marley, and Indy; Aunts, Betty Robertson of Columbia City, IN and Sharlot Crowder of Kokomo, IN; Brothers In Law, John (Linda) Tragesser of Tipton, IN and Ted (Linda) Tragesser of Manteno, IL; Sisters in Law, Rita Parr of Dallas, GA, Connie Mumford of Kokomo, IN, Henni (Elwyn) Schulenburg of Casper, WY, Becky Soupley of Kokomo, IN, Donna (Dean) Tidler of Littleton, CO, Nancy Tragesser of Tipton, IN, Deanne Tragesser of Tipton, IN, Betty Lariccia Tragesser of Tennessee Ridge, TN, Carol Mozzone of Kokomo, IN, and Jan (Bernie) Pierce of Indianapolis, IN; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces, and great grand nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Phil Mozzone; Brothers in Law, Louis Parr, Bob Mumford Sr, Bob Tragesser, Jim Tragesser, Tom Tragesser, Jim Soupley, and Herb Tragesser; Sister in Law, Betty (Romack) Tragesser; Uncles, Jack Robertson, Tom Crowder; Niece, Christina Parr; Nephews, Danny Parr and Bob Mumford Jr; and Grand Nephews, Billy Schroeder and David Michael Parr.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold St. Fort Wayne, IN with calling one hour prior. Father Joseph W. Gaughan will be officiating, using the Tragesser family chalice. Calling is also 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. He will be laid to rest with military honors. Preferred memorial are to Masses, the family, or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana (memorial envelopes available at the funeral home).
