IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael W.
Strup
June 10, 1946 – February 21, 2021
Michael W. Strup passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021, in North Manchester, Indiana.
He was born in Bryan, Ohio, on June 10, 1946, to the late Maurice W. and Norma L. Strup.
Mike graduated from Bryan High School in 1964. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Machinist Mate Second Class (E-5) from 1964 to 1968.
On January 3, 1972, he began employment with the Allen County Police Department, where he retired as a Lieutenant in the Traffic Division, after 25 years of service. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves in 1978, where he spent 19 years and retired as a Sergeant Major (E-9). He also retired as a Security Officer at ITT.
Mike married Patricia A. Morrissey on May 31, 1975, and she preceded him in death on March 29, 2014.
He enjoyed life at Little Cedar Lake, near Columbia City, Indiana, where he and Patty moved in 2000. Together they had many great memories with their neighbors Bob, Cindy, Frank, Mel, Ben, Annette, Max, and Lynn. There is no doubt they will have a small Celebration of Life in his honor.
Mike is survived by his son, Shane (Claudia), and grandson, Gavin, of San Diego, California; sisters, Sharon (Jurus) Kangars, of Norwalk, Ohio, Elizabeth (John) Prichard, of New Haven, Indiana, and brother, Joe (Kim) Strup, of Bryan, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his sons Jason and Ryan, and granddaughter, Cassandra Molina.
Per his request, no services will be held. Arrangements were made by Covington Memorial Gardens and he will be buried alongside Patty, Jason, and Ryan.
