Mildred D. Thornburg, 89, Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Coventry Meadows. Born in Wells County, she was the daughter to the late James E. and Kittie J. (Wilson) Smith. The Bluffton High School Graduate, graduated from International Business College. She was an Administrative Assistant to the executive of the southern Indiana Presbytery and also served in the capacity at First Presbyterian Church in Bloomington; and earlier at John Knox Presbyterian Church in North Olmsted, Ohio. She was also member of the Order of Eastern Star in Parma, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harry S. Thornburg; a son, Jerry Thornburg of Basel, Switzerland.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Thornburg, in 2001; brothers, Harry, Clarence, Charles, Willard, Clyde, and Earl Smith; sisters, Wuanita (Smith) Patten and Elizabeth (Smith) Wire.
