Myrtle Esther Geiger, 98 1/2, passed Monday, December 25, 2017. Born April 29, 1919 in Chicago, a daughter to the late Paul and Hattie (Hoeger) Ramming. Myrtle along with her mother and brother moved to the Fort Wayne area when she was 18. She was a lifelong and very active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Later in her life she started attending Concordia Lutheran Church. "Myrtle was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother."
Surviving are her daughters, Nancy (John) Krueger of Yreka, Calif., Beverly Frecker of Fort Wayne, Ellen (John) Korte of New Haven, and Karen Wray of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren, Nathan (Kathleen) Krueger, David (Dakota) Krueger, Miriam (Jeff) Schmidt, Sarah Archer, Andy (Anna) Frecker, Laura (Todd) Boicey, Matt (Danielle) Frecker, Mark (Adrianna) Frecker, Eric (Lisa) Korte, Brent (Nicole) Korte, John Wray and Brian (Melissa) Wray; 25 great-grandchildren, Jason, Claire, Grace, Mabel, Caleb, Evan, Makayla, Morghan, Madysen, Isabel, Caroline, Ethan, Emma, Ella, Jasmine, Jace, Lilianna, Garrett, Logan, Lauren, Hayden, Landin, Alex, Joshua, and Emily.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Raymond C. Geiger, in 2013; and brother, Leonard Ramming.
Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Pastor Pete Ahlersmeyer will be officiating. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Concordia Lutheran Church or Heart to Heart Hospice.
