Naomi Alberta "Bert" Dye age 79, passed away December 16, 2021, surrounded by her daughter and friends. Bert was born September 9th in Waverly Ohio to parents George and Frances Shelpman.

She was a very independent, outgoing, and accomplished woman. At the age of 18 she moved to Michigan and worked at The Sweden House, where her love of cooking began. Bert later moved to Fort Wayne and pursued a CNA Degree, working 11 years in healthcare. She took a break from working to enjoy the birth of her one and only daughter, but that is not where it ended. She went on to earn another degree teaching at FWCS where she retired after 16 years.

Later in life she joined Waynedale Baptist Church where she enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen or anywhere else she was needed. Bert will be remembered for her love of family, her love of cooking, her passion for animals and most importantly serving The Lord.
