Obituary

Naomi "Jane" Hamilton, 91, passed Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Golden Years.  She was born in Churubusco, Indiana to Cletus Francis Thimlar and Dorothy "Marie" (Jackson) Thimlar on August 30, 1926.  On May 14, 1949, she married the late Richard Melvin Hamilton.  Jane retired from Kmart in 1983.  She was an unapologetic camera ham, loved flashy jewelry, bingo and causing general mischief.  Her malapropisms, mangled aphorisms, and frequently inappropriate observations were the subjects of many family stories.

She is survived by brother, Melvin Thimlar of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Barbara (the late, Calvin) Garvin of Fort Wayne; step daughter, Sharon Varner of New Haven; three granddaughters, Michelle (Jeff) Stillwell, Melinda Wetz, and Cindy (Jeremy) Hague; three great grandchildren, Morgan, Courtney, and Brian; two great great grandchildren, Unique and Jayden.

She was also preceded in death by daughter, Karen Wetz; grandson, Kevin Varner; six brothers, Ted, Frank, Donald, Robert, R.D. and Lee; and two sisters, June Springer and Nedra Thimlar.

Funeral Service is 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior to the service.  Officiating will be Pastor John Love.  She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.  Preferred memorials to Golden Years-Benevolent Fund.
