Neil Owen Blauvelt, 98, died on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Covington Manor with his family by his side. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late, Herbert and Daisy Blauvelt. Neil served his country in the National Guard and retired from Fire Systems. During his retirement he also had worked as a security guard for Fort Wayne Community Schools and Lincoln Life Ins and stocked shelves at K-mart. He is one of Jehovah''s Witnesses.

Neil is survived by his three daughters, Linda Banks of Fort Wayne, Judy (James) Tracey and Cyndi (John) Pattison both Peru, and; five grandchildren, Chandra Reichert, MaiLin (Todd) Johnson, Scott (Machele) Wells, Heather Wells and Leslie (John) Ingalsbe; and eight great grandchildren, Christain, Colton, Camryn, Chanel, Isaiah, Kyle, Austin and Zachary and several nieces and nephews.

Neil was preceded in death by his first wife Viola M. (Bandor) Blauvelt, in 2007; second wife, Fern E. (Bauman) Blauvelt, in 2014; son, Gary L. Blauvelt, in 1968; son in law, Nathaniel Banks, in 2014; two brothers; and four sisters.
