Norma Jean Niedermeyer, 88, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 in Fort Wayne, IN. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Pearl (McLaughlin) Niedermeyer. Norma worked at Sears for 42 years, until her retirement in 1995. She was a faithful member of Robinson Chapel United Methodist Church, acting as financial secretary for many years and active in the United Methodist Church Women's Group. Norma was an avid Chicago Cubs, Fort Wayne Daisies, and Komets fan. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Surviving are her siblings, Linda (Tom) Cochran, Charles (Pat) Niedermeyer and Bonnie Royal; and 18 nieces and nephews. Norma was also preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Niedermeyer, Joyce Pease, Betty Niedermeyer, Dorothy Monnier, and Mary Cook. Funeral service 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00am to 1:00pm prior to the service. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Robinson Chapel United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank Promedica Hospice for the loving care they provided to Norma.
