Norma J. Shelton, 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Born in Greentown, IN. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth (Parker) Ballard.

Norma was known as a loving wife and mother and a loyal friend too many.

She was a partner with late husband, Rev. James W. Shelton in Christian ministries serving as director of music and receiving an honorary ordination in music from her peers.

She played organ and piano for services in hundreds of different churches throughout the tri-state area for over 70 years. She could literally play hundreds of hymns without any sheet music and in any key you needed.

She is survived by her sons, Tom (Jodi) Shelton and Mike (Nikky) Shelton of Fort Wayne and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, and daughter, Rebecca Shepherd.

Funeral Service is Friday August, 20, 2021  11:00 a.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Road, Ft. Wayne with calling hours from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. prior service. She will be interred at Covington Memory Gardens.
