Obituary

Norwin Oscar Hoffman, 83, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Visiting Nurse. Born in Preble, Indiana, he was the son of the late Charles and Katherine Hoffman. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was also a member and a past commander of the American Legion Post 241 and the V.F.W. 857. He was a mechanic with Tom Kelly Cadillac.

He is survived by his wife and friend of 30 years, Patricia Hoffman; children, Ned (Glenna) Hirschy, Linda Schweyer and Jeanne Graham all of Fort Wayne, Rebecca Rogers of Las Vegas; step children; Tom (Mindy) Brown of Bluffton and Tammy (Terry) Cox of Fort Wayne; brother, Raymond Hoffman of Fort Wayne; sister, Della Horman of Decatur; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Waneta Hoffman, in 1980; brother, Wilbert Hoffman; and a grandson Terry Cox, Jr.

Funeral Service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Covignton Memorial Gardens with military honors. Preferred memorials are to the H.O.P.E. for Animals and Visiting Nurse.
