Olivia Zakhi Puryear, 93, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully March 3, 2022 in her home surrounded by her daughters.  She was born May 6, 1928 in Fort Wayne to the late Ioan "John" and Anghlina (Sas) Zakhi.

Olivia married her late husband, Roy Puryear, on June 4, 1949 and together they raised two daughters.  She worked for ITT for 44 years before retiring in 1995.  Olivia was very involved in her church, St. Joseph Catholic Church, the sorority Phi Beta Psi, and the Romanian community in Fort Wayne.  She was very proud of her heritage.  In her spare time and later years Olivia enjoyed crocheting, puzzle books to keep her mind sharp, and cooking.  She was a beautiful lady with a beautiful soul and will be missed by many.

Olivia will be forever remembered by her daughters, Victoria Romey, and Angela Puryear; brother, Victor Zakhi; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Roy, Olivia was preceded in death by her siblings, Eugenia, John, Virgil, Lester, and Costica.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 9 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.  Funeral Mass is Thursday, March 10 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN  46802, with visitation one hour prior.
