Obituary

Professor Orville R. "Dick" Detraz P.E., 79, was called home to Heaven on Friday, January 22, 2010. Born in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Orville L. and Mildred E. (Bliss) Detraz. He was an Air Force Veteran and a member of Southwest Lutheran Church, the Order of Odd Fellows, and Masonic Lodge. He retired in 2002 after 34 years at IPFW. He was also active with Via De Cristo in Indiana/Kentucky and in Latvia. He is survived by Lynnell, his loving wife of 54 years; sons Michael (Gail) of Gainesville GA.; Richard (Patricia) of Douglasville, GA.; daughter Amy (Thomas) Maupin of Grabill; grandchildren, Erin, Michael Jr., Amanda, Madeline Detraz and Jeffrey Maupin. He was also preceded in death by his brother, David Detraz. Service is 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, at Southwest Lutheran Church, 5120 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to the service. The Rev. David Maki officiating. Calling is also 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Church.
