Pamela J. Gater, 56, of Fort Wayne, passed away with her family at her side Sunday April 1, 2007 at Hospice Home. She was born Nov. 17, 1950 in Fort Wayne and was the Registration Manager at Bluffton Regional Memorial Hospital. She had a love for animals and was a volunteer at Animal Care and Control. Pam is loved and mourned by her husband Mel; sons, Jim and Jeff Gater; a daughter, Katie Gater; Mother, Phyllis Ormes; a sister, Deborah (Richard) Giardina; sister-in-law, Marcia Gunter; future daughter-in-law Kristen Mitchell, all of Fort Wayne; and the many other family and friends she touched during her special life. She was preceded in death by her father Willis Ormes. Memorial Service Thursday 11 a.m. with calling one hour prior at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Memorial Calling also 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home or American Cancer Society.
