Patricia L. "Patti" (Baker) Gettel 95, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed gently from this world on June 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Patti is survived by three daughters and a son, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, two stepdaughters, and her brother Bill Baker. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Gettel, her sister Yvonne and brother Cary, as well as her parents, Betty and Carey Baker. A long-time member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, Patti has led a blessed life enriched by kindness to others and a deep and abiding love for her family. Through volunteer activities, including Canine visitations to care facilities with her much-loved dog Ginger, Patti highlighted a caring disposition that imbued joy and comfort in friend and stranger alike. Patti and Ron loved to travel, and were avid Indiana University Basketball fans. Patti was the second oldest of four children and lived her entire life in Fort Wayne. She had a successful career as a secretary for a commercial real estate company, and was a wonderful wife and mother, a beloved sister and daughter, and a kind and caring friend to many. Patti's loss will be keenly felt, but she will remain a vibrant and warm memory in the hearts and minds of all those she touched with her special light.
