Obituary

Patricia Ann (Cler) Travis, 90, went to her heavenly home on Monday, December 8, 2025. Patricia was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on November 9, 1935, the daughter of the late Oscar and Lenora (Klutho) Cler. After graduating from Elmhurst High School, she worked at Lincoln Life Insurance Company. Pat married the love of her life, Morrell, on August 13, 1955, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2024, just days before their 69th wedding anniversary.

She was a devoted member of St. Therese Catholic Church for over 60 years where she enjoyed serving on the funeral dinner committee and providing pies. She and Morrell were members of the Historical Automobile  Association for many years. Pat enjoyed gardening, reading, bike riding, fishing, spending summers at Lake James, and winters at Fort Myers Beach, and baking. She loved to bake a variety of Christmas cookies each year and was known for her amazing cookie platters she gave to family and friends. Pat's family, however, was the most important aspect of her life. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her and she enjoyed showing them her love through food. There was always a freezer stocked with homemade ice cream sandwiches, a container of  fresh baked cookies, or a pie in the refrigerator. There was never a day after school where a homemade snack wasn't waiting on the table when her children arrived home. Being with her husband, children, and grandchildren was all she ever needed. Pat and Morrell were always excited to spend time with their grandchildren and support them. Whether in town or out-of-state, they loved being present for them all.

Patricia is survived by her children, Tim (Linda) Travis, Tina (Don) Buttig, Tom Travis, and Tami (Bruce) Neireiter; grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Karst, Mike (Tammy) Travis, Daniel (Amanda) Buttig, David (Erica) Buttig, Ryan (Allison) Buttig, Alison (Cory) Sank, Morgan (Ben) Hackworth, Andrew Travis, Jack Neireiter, Joshua Neireiter, and Joseph Neireiter; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Barb) Cler; sisters-in-law, Sue Ann Shideler (Keith, deceased), and Joy (Terry, deceased) Hartman; brothers-in-law, John (Susie), Tom (Margie), and Jim (Tayne) Peirce; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Susie (John) Shappell; niece, Jo Ellen Shappell; and her in-laws, Morrell and Hilda Travis.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and Lutheran Life Villages – Pine Valley for the love and care they provided Pat and the entire family.
