Obituary

Paul Ray Bridgett, 86, of Bloomington, passed Thursday, August 18, 2016, at IU Hospice House in Bloomington. Born on February 13, 1930, he was the son of the late George and Pearl Bridgett. Formerly of Fort Wayne, he had been a resident of Bell Trace Senior Living, Bloomington since September 2013. Paul was a graduate of Fort Wayne Central High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Jeanette (Pavey) on Nov. 17, 1951. He worked as a project manager at Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire for 29 years. He also worked 13 years part-time for Manheim Auto Auction. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church for 47 years and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church before moving to Bloomington.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette (Pavey); son, Neal (Barb) of Bloomington; grandchildren, Emily Jeanette (Chris) Hotard of St. Louis, Mo., Wilson Paul (Shelby) Columbus, Ohio; and one great-grandson, Zachary Neal Hotard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter and son-in-law Kathi (Jeff) Bell.

Memorial service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at Covington Memorial Gardens, 8408 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. Visitation will be prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation also from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today, Aug, 22, 2016, at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Arlington United Methodist Church, 1820 W. Arlington Rd., Bloomington, (IN 47404).
