Pauline (Stapleton) Collier, 91, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at home. She had been lovingly cared for by Visiting Nurse & Hospice and Visiting Angels for several months and was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her passing. She was the daughter of the late Paul Hunter and Marie (Keith) Stapleton. She graduated from Fleming High School in Fleming. Kentucky. Pauline married the late Worley Collier Jr., on August 7, 1943 and enjoyed 67 loving years of marriage. Pauline was a strong Christian role model for her 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was a faithful and active member of Anthony Wayne First Church of God. She celebrated the blessing of her 90th birthday with a luncheon at the Church last spring. As her oldest granddaughter said at the celebration, "Her life is a legacy of love." Pauline was a member of the Mary Martha Circle and very devoted to her Wednesday morning bible study group.
Pauline is survived by her four sons, Jeffrey (Robin) Collier of Leo, Craig (Tamara) Collier of Bristol, Scott (Allison) Collier of Fort Wayne and Shawn (Betsy) Collier of Bluffton; one daughter, Leslie (Keith) Weirich of Goshen; brothers, Clayton Stapleton of Marshall, Missouri, Charles Stapleton of Estacada, Oregon, James Stapleton of Jonesboro, Tennessee and Timothy Stapleton of Portland, Oregon; sister, Sue Shields of Rogersville, Tennessee.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Worley Collier Jr.; her daughter, Sandra Collier; her son, Judge Loren Collier; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Collier Riley; brother, Edward Stapleton.
A celebration of her life will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Anthony Wayne First Church of God, 6012 South Bend Drive, with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation also from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers family is asking memorials to Visiting Nurse or the Church.
