Peggy L. Maki, 78, passed away on March 19. 2024. She was born in Garrett, IN on October 4, 1945, a daughter of the late Henry and Mabel Worman.

Peggy loved exercising and lifted weights at the YMCA regularly. She had many friends at the Jorgensen YMCA locally. After her children were adults, she began a career in childcare and also worked as a preschool teacher.

She was a cat lover and also volunteered at the Humane Shelter socializing cats. She often attended services at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, William Maki, children, JoLynn (Jim) Conley, Timothy Houghton and Heather Houghton; step-daughters, Karen (Jeff) Hampton and Susan (Brian) Hipp; grandchildren, Travis and Tyson Conley, Karissa Hampton, and Quinn and Andrew Gillies.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, March 29, 2024 with calling one hour prior at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46804.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Humane Fort Wayne.
