Perry William Ely, 63, died Friday October 16, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 20, 1952 in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late Robert and Mona Ely. Perry worked at Lincoln Food for 30 years and was active in the Jefferson Center Fire Dept. since 2000 along with the "FAST" Team for Allen County and "FIT" Team for Whitley County where he took pictures of fire scenes. He enjoyed gold mining and fishing.

Surviving is his wife Marilyn Ely, children, Colleen (Paul) Reyes, Angie (Bobby) Driver, grandchildren, Jazmin, Isabella, Jordan, Izaac, and Alyssa. He was preceded in death by a brother Larry Ely.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 21, 2015 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with viewing 1 hour prior to service. Pastor Jerry Blanchard officiating. There will also be viewing at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Jefferson Center Fire Department or the Anthony Wayne First Church of God.
