It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Phillip A. Black, who passed December 2, 2024 at the age of 56.

Born and raised in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Phil grew up with a passion for pinball and understanding how things work. This led him to a career in engineering with which he supported his family. Phil was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and son, whose generosity and humor touched the lives of everyone he met.

Phil is survived by his mother, Jeannette, sisters, Kathy (Darren) and Jennifer (James), his daughter, Edison, his son, James, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert, and brother, Herb.

A devoted Catholic, Phil found strength and peace in his faith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent's Catholic Church on Thursday, December 5th at 11:30AM. Visitation will take place one hour prior.  If you would like to honor Phil, the family requests Mass intentions.
