Randy John Collins, 66, of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Fort Wayne, died on March 5, 2014 at his home. He was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Byron John and Mabel (Tuttle) Collins. He started out as a lumberjack with his "daddo" and then went off to get his associate degree in technology. He retired from Magnavox in 2002, after 30 years of service and then worked for Auto Zone part time in his retirement years. Then if full retirement he and his wife then moved to Florida. He attended United Church of God in Florida and The Journey here in Fort Wayne. He was a man who enjoyed his family and the great outdoors. He spent over 23 years taking his family camping at Gordon's and trips to West Virginia. He loved reading the bible, family genealogy, story telling, bowling and golfing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara E. (Ross) Collins of Ocala, Florida; daughters, Angela Sbarra of West Leyden, New York and Samantha Collins of Fort Wayne; brother, Robert "Bob" (Karen) Collins of Centerville, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Breanna, Madison, James, Reagan and Jacob.
Funeral Service is 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association, Dialysis Clinic Inc. or Ronald McDonald House.
