Ray C. Hooker, 96, died at Regency Place of Ft. Wayne Sept. 17, 2009 He was born February 23, 1913, in Paulding Co., Ohio to Harry and Carrie (Shaw) Hooker. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S.Navy during World War II. A graduate of Bowling Green University, with an engineering degree, he was a school teacher in Ohio and retired from Phelps Dodge in Fort Wayne. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Ray is survived by; sons, Craig (Patty) Hooker of Fort Wayne; Dr. Rex (Sally) Hooker of Munster, IN; grandsons Shane (Nikki) and Bradley; and sister, Mildred Kruse of Auburn, IN He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Hooker, and a sister, Elizabeth Hutchins.
Thelma O. Hooker, 94, died at Regency Place of Ft. Wayne September 19, 2009. She was born in September 28, 1914 in Defiance, Ohio to Lawrence and Anna (Nell) Patten. A graduate of Bowling Green University, she was a school teacher in Ohio and retired from Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Thelma is survived by sons; Craig (Patty) Hooker of Fort Wayne; Dr. Rex (Sally) Hooker of Munster, IN; and grandsons Shane (Nikki) and Bradley. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Hooker who died two days earlier,and a brother; Robert Patten. Services are 11 a.m. Monday Sept. 21, 2009 at Covington Funeral Home with calling one hour prior to service and visitation is Sunday Sept. 20, 2009 from 4-8 at the funeral home. Entombment is at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Preferred Memorials to Messiah Lutheran Church.
