Rayford A. Loftin, 86, died Friday July 5, 2013. He was born August 28, 1926 in Trenton, NC to the late Hugh and Lila Loftin. Ray retired from Magnavox after 37 years as a electrical engineer. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and a member of American Legion Post #47. Ray was also a member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church and attended The Chapel. Ray enjoyed travelling, gardening, music, boating, electronics, and wintering in Florida.
Surviving are his wife, Janet L. Loftin, daughters, Tera (David) Viola, Lake Mary, FL, Stacia (Matt) Georgi, Ft. Wayne, 4 grandchildren, Joseph, Lauren, Cameron, McKenna, 3 brothers, Garland A. (Hazel) Loftin, Marion E. (Louise) Loftin, Dalton H. (Judy) Loftin, sister, Clarice L. Davenport. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Frances Tyndall, and Louise L. Nobles.
A memorial service is planned for 11:00 a.m. August 2, 2013 at The Chapel 2505 W. Hamilton Rd. Ft. Wayne, IN with calling from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
