Rexford Lee Glass, 83, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Lutheran Hospital. Born in Gas City, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Lizzie Glass. He retired from Owens Illinois after 33 ½ years of service as a machine repair man. The Army veteran was a lifetime member of First Calvary Division, the 7th Calvary Regiment and Korean Veterans Organization. He loved country western music and plays guitar; he also loved woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by his children, Timothy Glass of Milton, Kentucky, Patricia Lewis of Fort Wayne, Peggy Glass of Marion and Glenna Alexander of Fort Wayne; and several grand children and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Elva, in 2009; daughter, Theresa Young; son, Richard McCann; and a brother, Forrest.
Funeral Service is 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial are to the Humane Shelter.
