Richard Carroll Covey, 72 passed away October 21, 2018 having lived his entire life in his family home.  He was born May 11, 1946 in Fort Wayne to the late Arthur E. and Lorena E. (Soldner) Covey. He graduated from James Smart Special Ed School.  Richard enjoyed his job of 36 years at Indiana Wire Die Working along side his father at times.  When IWD closed, he enjoyed working at New Die Concepts, Inc. and hanging out with his good friend Robert Kanyuh at the Junk Yard.  A loyal and loving person he would give the shirt off his back to family and friends who needed a place to stay or a loan.  Fishing was his passion and he enjoyed talking about his hobby to anyone, giving gifts of bluegill and croppy to thankful friends and neighbors.  His love of card playing later became love of computer games.

He will be fondly remembered by his many friends, greatly loved by his 8 nieces and nephews, 10 great-nieces and nephews and 2 great-great-nieces and nephews along with his siblings, Marilyn (Charles) Bash, Linda Bazzinett, Cinda White and Lynn (Mary) Covey.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers-in-law Stephen Bazzinett and Ric White.

Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday November 24, 2018 at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery 8408 Covington Rd. with chapel  gathering at 11:00 a.m.  Preferred memorials are to; Aging and In-Home Services of N.E. Indiana 2927 Lake Ave. Ft. Wayne, IN  46805-5415
