"Rick the Scrapper" Richard David Dever, 64, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at his home in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Raymond SR. and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Dever. He was a 1976 graduate of Carroll High School. Rick worked for North American Van Lines for 17 years. He was an avid Fort Wayne Komets fan and enjoyed being with family. Surviving are his fiancè, Karen Wilson; brothers, Paul Dever and Raymond Dever Jr.; children, David Dever, Shannon Dever Whelchel, Amy Dever, and Fauline (Altamirano) Spaulding and ; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Rick was also preceded in death by his brother, Rolland Dever. Funeral service 1:00pm, Friday, February 3, 2023 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00am to 1:00pm prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
