Richard Fredrick Grote, 89, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, May 17, 20102 at Lutheran Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son to the late George F. and Bertha F. (Clevenger) Grote. He retired from General Electric, after 42 years of service, in 1983. The South Side graduate was a member of the Emmaus Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ina Marie (Miller) Grote; daughters and sons in law, Mary Ann and James Mangold of Milford, Ohio and Rosanna and Kenneth Hobson of Boca Raton, Florida; three grandchildren, Alandra (Dr. Andrew) Parchman, Brandon Mangold and Cale Hobson; and one great granddaughter, Ainsley Parchman.
Funeral Service is 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2012 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2012. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be made to Emmaus Lutheran Church Foundation Fund.
