Richard W. Gruesbeck, 87, of Fort Wayne passed away in his home surrounded by his family January 18.  He was born January 12, 1935 in Fort Wayne to the late Carl and Josephine (Ulshafer) Gruesbeck.

Richard proudly served in the Marines at the end of the Korean War repairing tanks.  When he returned from duty, he married his love, Nancy (Stolte).  They were together for 61 years until her passing in 2019, and they raised 2 sons.  Richard worked until his retirement for Harvester, which became Navistar.  When not working, he enjoyed being outdoors fishing and camping.  He was a good father and loved his family dearly.

Richard is survived by his sons, Steve and Jeff; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Don Gruesbeck, Tom Gruesbeck, and Peg Treesh; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Richard was preceded in passing by his sister, Judy Markley.

Family will receive friends from 10:00am - 12:00pm Saturday, February 5 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN  46804, with funeral service to follow at 12:00pm.  Military honors will be presented at the graveside following the service.
