Richard H. Kessens, 83, died Wednesday May 27, 2015. He was born August 21, 1931 in Fort Wayne to the late Harry and Viola Kessens. Richard was a retired Brick Mason and a Marine veteran stationed in Cuba during the Korean War. "Over the years he was active in Boy Scout 410, Ducks Unlimited, Acres Land Trust and Local 4 INKY Retired Bricklayers Union.."

Surviving are his children, Chris (Les) Kessens, Dianna Kessens, Jim (Martha) Kessens, Sharon (Ford) Phares, Kelly Kessens and Kerry (Diane) Kessens, grandchildren Lorrie, Robbie, Jayme, Misty, Amanda, Sean, Evan, Thomas, Christine, Nathan and Richie, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 10, 2015 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Ft. Wayne with calling 1 hour prior to service. There will also be calling 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home Tuesday June 9, 2015. Inurnment will be in Marion National Cemetery. Preferred Memorials are to, Acres Land Trust, 1802 Chapman Rd.
