Robert "Rockin Bobby" Gerald Imel, 72, passed Friday, August 7, 2020.  Born in Fort Wayne he was a son to the late Gerald Imel and Martha (Fogwell) Imel.  After graduation he served his country in the Army Reserves.

Bob retired from Zollner after 34 years of service; he worked at the Memorial Coliseum and then finally retired from S.W.A.C. after 10 years of service.

Bob loved his family and his grandchildren are what kept him young at heart.  He never sat still always on the go; whether he was fishing, hunting, golfing or mushroom hunting, he loved the outdoors.  Bob was artistic and loved woodworking.  When he did relax it was to watch IU or the Colts.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Joan Lucille (Prior) Imel; children, Chad (Christine) Imel of Fort Wayne and Jodie (Tom) Winn of Cary, North Carolina; brothers, Rick (Deb) Imel of Roanoke and Randy Imel of Fort Wayne; sisters, Sharon (Thomas) Melton of Clearwater, Florida and Cheri (Chris) Cote of Morrison, Colorado; grandchildren, Ridge Imel, Ryder Imel, Madison Winn and Cameron Winn; with one great granddaughter on the way.

Funeral Service is 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior to the service.  Calling is also 3-7 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the funeral home.  He will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens.
