Obituary

Robert Dale "Bob" Griner, 86, went home to his Savior Monday, March 16, 2015. He was born January 25, 1929 in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late Charles and Helen Griner. Bob was a man who had a strong faith and was a member of Highland Gospel Community Church. His grandson, Jim III, started calling him "Popoo" and it lovingly became his name with the family. He was a Marine Veteran during the Korean War and a past member of American Legion Post #241. He was a avid bowler playing on various teams over the years. Bob retired in 1994 after 39 plus years with Navistar (Harvester) as a draftsman in the Engineering Dept.

Surviving is his wife Ruby Griner, children, Cindy (Beth Black) Mack, Vicki (Rob) Tucker, Dan (Angie) Griner, Gail (Jim) Rogers, 14 grandchildren, Chris, Daniel, Stacy, Tonya, Jordan, Jim III, Melissa, Nathan, Melanie, Matt, Daniel Jr., Shawnez, Brittney, Justin and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 children Don Griner and Barbara Limoge and his 2 sisters, Pat Peters and Judy Schroeder.

In celebration of Bob''s life, service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday March 21, 2015 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, with calling 1 hour prior to service. There is calling Friday 4-8 p.m. March 20, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to Highland Gospel Community Church or Parkview Hospice.
