Robert E. Hawk, 80, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, December 15, 2006 at Hospice Home. Born September 20, 1926 in Whitley County, he was a lifelong area resident, US Army Air Corps. veteran and member of the American Legion, Post 157. He attended Dupont Road Wesleyan Church and had retired in 1990 as an inspector for Dana Corp. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mildred L. Hawk of Fort Wayne; daughters, Sandra S. (Rev. Ray) Taylor of Osgood, IN and Crystal L. Becker of Stockton, Calif; son, Robert E. (Sarah) Hawk II of Fort Wayne; brother, Calvin Hawk of Albion; sisters, Helen (Fred) Bailey of Pearland, TX, Eloise (David) McCain of Bakersfield, Calif., Ruth Ardhuerumly of Churubusco and Jean Meyer of Churubusco; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters, Lenora Gross & Thelma Hawk and brother, Raymond Hawk. Funeral Services 2:00PM Tuesday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Friends may call Monday 2-4 & 6-8PM in the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family's preferred memorial is Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
