Robert F. Sefcik, 83 of Berne passed away Sunday February. 10, 2008 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur. He was born in Chicago on June 8, 1924 to George and Emma Sefcik. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty C. (Travelbee) of Berne; daughters Carol (Taylor) Zimmerman, and Julia (Dan) Welker; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He served three years in the Army-Air Corp. during WWII and 30 years in the Indiana Air National Guard where he participated in the Berlin Air lift in 1960 and retired in 1981. He loved reading, watching, and talking about military aircraft. He also enjoyed woodworking, especially making wooden toys in "Papa''s Basement." He dedicated all his love, energy and time to caring for his family. We knew he loved us all, especially his wife, Betty. Funeral services are 12 noon on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd with calling there two hours prior. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials can be made to Berne Trinity United Methodist Church.
