Robert Walter Thompson, 72, of Fort Wayne, passed on Monday, May 27, 2013 at home with his family by his side. Born in Alpena, Michigan, he was the only son of the late George and Charlotte Thompson. He was a member of Three Rivers Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran and was retired from G.M., in 2009 after 38 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia Thompson; children, Daniel and Angel both of Fort Wayne; sisters, Marion Parent, Dory Stahl, Linda Lemon, Rose Epperson, and Edith Hussein; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Kuchnicki.

Funeral Service is 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Three Rivers Baptist Church, 1406 Lumbard Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 1-8 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Church. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials to Salvation Army.
