Roberto P. Martinez, 89, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014. He was born October 31, 1925 in Brownsville, Texas to the late Jose and Maria Martinez. Roberto was a former member of St. Paul''s Catholic Church and a current member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and Latin America Club. He was a stern, generous, hard working good man. Roberto was highly devoted to his wife Esther at the end of her life in caring for her.

Surviving are his children, Roberto (Frankie Kay), Jose (Kay D.), Jesse (Frances), Sergio (Bonnie), David and Rosario all Martinez, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Martinez in 1993, siblings, Alfonso, Inez, Carmen, Bernardo and Gilberto all Martinez and 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 2213 Brooklyn Ave. Ft. Wayne with calling 30 minutes prior to service. There will also be calling Monday December 8, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 3:45 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
