Roger Abel, 67 of Columbia City, died Friday September 26, 2008 on his farm. He was the son of Ellis and Pauline Abel, born on June 27, 1941 in Fort Wayne. He belonged to the Boots and Bonnet Club, Three Rivers Woodworking Club, and National Horseshoe Pitchers Association. Roger is survived by his wife Carol; sons Steve (Anne) Abel and Brian (Liz) Abel; daughter Teresa "Terry" (Rick) Stevens; and grandchildren Brandon and Joshua Mills, Cameron and Nathan Abel, Lynn and Ricky Stevens. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Calling will also be there on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Allen County Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
