Roger Lee Ransom, 74, of Leesburg, formerly of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, January 1, 2015. He was born in New Haven to the late, Daniel and Alma (Bartell) Ransom. Roger was a member of the Columbia City United Methodist Church. He was the owner of Sunset Vue Mobile Home Court and had also worked at Associated Truck Lines as a driver. He married Judy KayFrantz, on September 5, 2009, she survives.
He is also survived by his daughters, Brenda Patton of Hamilton and Kimberly (James) Hullinger of Butler; step children, David (Hope) Hammond of South Carolina, Stacy (Joe) Hodges and Christina (James) Young both of Michigan; brothers, Ed (Gailanna) Ransom of Avilla, Dennis (Alice) Ransom of Auburn and Curtis Ransom of Spencerville; sister, Cheryl (Ron) Clark of Auburn; fifteen grandchildren; and four great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Smith.
Funeral service is 11 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2-6 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to Alzheimer''s Association.
