Roland "Ron" Hern, 78, of Roanoke, IN, passed away on October 29, 2024. He was born in Indianapolis, IN, a son of the late Stanley and Virginia Hern.

Ron served as an Indiana State Trooper for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Hern; sons, Lee (Deborah) Hern and Martin Abdon; and daughter, Laura (John) Carmody; grandchildren, Mark (Laura), Taylor, Nathaniel, and Anna; and three great-grandchildren; and sister, Joan (Steve) Wetzel.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Services entrusted to Covington Memorial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Lutheran High School.
