Obituary

Ronald G. Jackson, 80, died, June 19, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital. Born in Markle, Indiana, he was the son of the late Dale and Edris Jackson. He was a long time member of the Waynedale United Methodist Church and a food bank volunteer at the church after his retirement. The Korean Air Force Veteran retired from Fort Wayne Metals Research in 1992 after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Lions Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Jackson; son, Michael Jackson of Fort Wayne; daughters, Tanya (John) Zent of Fort Wayne, Patricia McGuire of Port Angeles, Washington., Jacqueline (Randall) McLeod of Fort Wayne; brother, Jack Jackson of Olyphant, Pennsylvania; three grandsons, Jeremy Zent, Michael and Brian Jennings; and three great grandchildren, Jeffrey Jennings and Mackenzie and Jackson Zent. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Buchan. Service is 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling is Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Harris. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials are to American Heart & Lung Association.
