Ronald "Ron" Layton Lewellyn, 87, peacefully passed Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Lutheran Life Villages.  He was born in Garrett, Indiana on March 21, 1931, a son to the late, Arthur Courtland Lewellyn and Lois Erlene (Withrow) Lewellyn.  He grew up in Garrett with his twin brother, the late Richard "Dick" Lewellyn.  Ron worked on B & O Railroad and then retired from Zollner Corp after 30 years as an inspector in 1991. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War, was a member of the American Legion and the Moose.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda, Florida and attended Peace United Church of Christ once he returned to Fort Wayne in 2015.  He loved living on Lake Pleasant in Indiana for many years and in Punta Gorda, Florida.  Ron loved bass fishing, collecting fishing reels and baits, puzzles and working in his shop.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sharon Elizabeth (Earl) Lewellyn; step-children, Randall (Mary) Miller of Fort Wayne, Amy (Kenneth) Barrett of Fort Wayne and Deborah (David) Barris of Commerce Twp., Michigan; sister, Maryann (Jim) Crouch of Douglass, Texas; four grandchildren, Adam (Cameron) Geesaman of Fishers, Aric (Autumn) Geesaman of McCordsville, Indiana, Faithe McCreery of Laconia, New Hampshire and Benjamin Martin of Fort Wayne; six great grandchildren, Austin, Cohen, Dylan, Karl, Jude and Galen; and his dear cat, Boots.

Ron was also preceded in death by step son, Kent E. Miller.Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July, 13, 2018, at, Peace United Church of Christ, 9123 Aboite Center Road, with calling one hour prior.
