Ronald Neal Shaffer, 97 of Fort Wayne passed away May 19, 2025, at Parkview Randallia Hospital. Ron was born July 10, 1927, in Central City, Pennsylvania, the son of Ralph and Blanch (Cook) Shaffer. He married Patricia Jane Petrovick; she preceded him in death January 15, 2020.

Ron honorably served in the United Navy during WW II and Korea. He graduated from Akron University and worked as an Engineer for International Harvester. He was a numbers guy and things had to be exact. He enjoyed college football, Italian restaurants, "Red Heads" and working backstage for the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre. Ron was very involved throughout the years at his church, New Haven United Methodist.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Cheri Shaffer (Jim Aldecoa) of Santa Barbara, California; sister Donna Wurm of Newton Falls, Ohio, along with several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law David Fleming (Debra) of New Bern, North Carolina. Also, surviving are his special friends and neighbors, Louis and Gena DeArmond, their daughters Lily and Josie and Jon and Jody Brune. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pat and a brother Cecil Shaffer.

There will be a graveside service Friday, August 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804.
