Obituary

Rosalind Anita was the only child born to the union of Juanita Bramlette Wilson and Rufus Felix Wilson on December 23, 1941 in Nashville, Tennessee. She spent her early childhood there under the tender loving care of her mother and grandparents, Carl and Mary Bramlette. In 1953, she and her mother moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she attended Hanna Elementary School, Zion Lutheran School and Concordia Lutheran High School. She accepted Christ as her savior as a young teen. Always a bright student, Rosalind was a very well-liked and active young lady who was an outstanding majorette in Concordia's marching band. While at Concordia, she met the love of her life, Richard Ridley, Jr. They were married in 1958 and their union was blessed with three children: Anthony, Richard III and Teresa. Roz was a very affectionate and devoted wife and mother who raised her children well. Her cooking and baking skills were exceptional and the grandchildren loved her cookies at Christmas.

For 32 years, Rosalind was employed by ITT Aerospace and became a leader in the Multimedia and Proposal Group where she produced detailed manuals for special products and important proposals. Her work was so exemplary that she was sent to London twice to help train other employees to utilize the software most efficiently. She was described by her colleagues as "kind, patient, dedicated, professional, well-respected, and most of all, great to work with!" She retired from ITT in 2010.

Roz enjoyed watching movies, reading and listening to smooth music. Her knitting and crocheting abilities were shared with her loved ones. She was a loyal daughter, a loving mother, a faithful friend and a peaceful, gentle lady who was a stunning beauty at every stage of her life. Rosalind Anita Wilson Ridley, 84, passed peacefully at home with her beloved children by her side on Good Friday, April 3, 2026.

Rosalind was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary and Carl Bramlette and her mother, Juanita Bramlette. Her memory will be cherished forever by her sons, Anthony (Rebecca) and Richard III (Condra) and her dedicated daughter, Teresa, who was a most amazing caregiver for the last years of Roz's lovely life; 6 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons; 4 sisters-in-love, 1 brother-in-love and a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Turner Chapel AME Church, 836 East Jefferson Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. She will be laid to rest privately at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
