On Monday, December 28, Ruth Lauretta Baxter passed from death to life and entered the presence of her Savior. There to welcome her were her parents, Charles Landes, Sr. and Della , her brother, Charles, Jr . and sister-in-law Charlotte, and many other friends and family members. Awaiting a future reunion are her husband of 51 years, Richard, and her brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Marilyn of Anderson, Indiana, and brother Donald of Anderson. Also remembering Ruth and grieving this parting are her and Richard's son, Jeffrey Scott of Fort Wayne. Ruth was a retired nurse. For 56 years she a distinguished career at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital and most recently with several home health agencies who specialize in care of special needs children. While Ruth had many loves—including her husband and family, her church and her love for reading, —her greatest love was learning and sharing with others about the Word of God and her great Savior. For many years she assisted her husband in a ministry to the people of Jamaica.  She developed a unique relationship with many Jamaican women and enjoyed an effective prayer and Bible ministry with them.  At this time, the family is planning a private service but hope the many who love Ruth will join them this spring, to celebrate her life, at a date to be determined.
