Obituary

Ruth Evelyn Felger, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Visiting Nurse. She was born September 27, 1918, to the late Solomon and Ellen Gerber. During her younger years she worked at General Electric and also led herself and her three sisters in a traveling quartet called the "Gerber Sisters; during the 1930''s and 1940s; in which she played the lead guitar. She loved country music and attending concerts. On July 19, 1947 she married her husband, the late Herbert Felger. They were the co-founders of Felger''s Peat Moss, in 1953; she solely managed the business office well into her 80''s. Ruth contributed to the business in many ways until her early 90''s. Ruth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church Lake Twp and a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son, Jerry (Deedee) Felger; grandchildren, Matthew (Christine) Felger and Stephanie Felger; and her beloved great granddaughter, Maleena Felger.

She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Betty Felger, Dorothy Price and Ellen Bucher.

Funeral Service is 2 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2014 at St Johns Lutheran Church Lake Twp, 7914 West Cook Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is 4-8 p.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Church. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to St. Johns Lutheran Church Lake Twp - Building Fund or Lake Luther Outdoor Ministries.
